Election21: Midweek poll sees all sides neck-and-neck

newulster

BANNON — Independent candidates, the Liberal Conservative Party, and the Democratic Party are all tied according to a midweek poll.

Ethan McAllister’s LCP and Stephen Cameron’s DP are both on 33% alongside independent candidates in Wednesday’s poll.

Under New Ulster’s so called plurality-at-large voting method seat totals are not determined by popular vote. This makes it hard to project an outcome based on the opinion polls.

However, if the next House of Assembly was as evenly split as the poll suggests, it would mean the Lib-Cons and Dems would both fall short of a majority and would have to rely on the independent candidates — or each other — in order to form a government.

New Ulster goes to the polls this Monday, August 30th.
