Inspired by micronational movements past and present, New Ulster began on August 1, 2021 when a few friends with a mutual interest in history and politics decided to organize a breakaway from Canada.

What began for fun quickly evolved into a full-fledged micronation.

New Ulster is about embracing and exemplifying our traditional civic society and liberal democracy, holding 'change' accountable, making democracy engaging, and defending our history and heritage — and the lessons they offer.
